Role Of E-commerce Safety In Modern World
The widespread introduction of the Internet reflected on the development of e-business. One type of e-business is e-commerce. According to UN documents, the business is electronic, if at least two of its four components (production of goods or services, marketing, delivery and settlement) are carried out via the Internet. Such business are becoming common these days as most of the companies are doing a lot of business online.
More narrow interpretation of the concept of "electronic commerce" describes a system of cashless payment based on plastic cards. A key issue for e-commerce is e-commerce safety. The high level of fraud on the Internet is a limiting factor for the development of electronic commerce and e-commerce safety nowadays is very urgent. Buyers, trade and banks are afraid to use this technology because of the danger of incurring financial losses.
People mainly use the Internet as an information channel to obtain information of interest. Only slightly more than 2% of all searches on directories and databases on the Internet end with shopping. Let's give a classification of possible types of fraud in electronic commerce: transaction (operation of cashless payments) made by fraudsters using the correct card details (card number, expiration date, etc.); data on the client via hacking database of business enterprises or by intercepting of messages of buyer, containing personal data; shops-butterflies emerging, usually for a short time to disappear after receiving the buyers money for nonexistent services or products; increase in cost of goods in relation to the proposed price to the buyer or repeat of write-offs from customer's account; shops and sales agents, intended to collect information on card details and other personal data of customers.

If we talk about e-commerce safety we should say about its important component - protocol SSL: Protocol SSL (Secure Socket Layer) was developed by U.S. Company Netscape Communications. SSL protects data between service protocols (such as HTTP, NNTP, FTP, etc.) and transport protocols (TCP / IP) with the help of modern cryptography in the point-to-point links. Previously, it was possible without any technical tricks to view the data which was exchanged between clients and servers. There was even coined a special term for this - "sniffer".
Protocol of e-commerce safety - SSL is designed to address the traditional tasks of ensuring security of information exchange: the user and the server must be relatively sure that they exchange information with not dummies subscribers, buy namely with those that are necessary, without limiting by password protection, after establishing of a connection between the client and server all information flow between them must be protected from unauthorized access, and finally the exchange of information of the parties must be assured in the absence of accidental or deliberate distortion during transmission. SSL protocol as element of e-commerce safety allows the server and the client before the start of information exchange to authenticate each other, agree on an encryption algorithm and to form general cryptographic keys. To this end, the protocol uses two keys (asymmetric) cryptosystem, in particular, RSA.
